Meet the Staff

Donald A. Compton, DMD, PC

A  native Oregonian, Dr. Compton grew up  in a Clackamas county farming  family.  He graduated from Canby High  School in 1970 and Oregon State  University in with a bachelors degree in  Zoology in 1974.  Dr. Compton  received his Doctor of Dental Medicine at  the University of Oregon  Health Sciences, School of Dentistry in 1978.   Since then he has  practiced general dentistry in group and solo  settings.  In 2000 Dr.  Compton acquired the standing  general practice of Dr. Nixon.  A dental  practice encompassing three  generations of the Nixon family, which had  been operating on Main Street  since 1888.  Dr. Compton has tried to  retain the small town values that  three  generations of Nixon's had  fashioned.

 In his free time Dr.  Compton enjoys maintain his rural Gaston home,  working on his vintage  British sports cars and spending time with his  family.  

Michele Bernards - Practice Manager

 Michele has worked for Main Street Dental  since 2004.  Michele enjoys assisting patients with options to make  their dental care affordable by offering alternatives to standard dental  insurance.  If you have an insurance question or need assistance  deciphering your statement, Michele is your gal.   Michele is a member  of Oregon Dental Executives’ Association.
   Michele grew up on the  coast of Washington state.  In her spare time she enjoys her favorite  activity, spending time with her teenage daughter and husband of 19  years.  She and her family love to travel to warm and sunny locations  for vacation and wine tasting at local wineries.  

Suzie Dimmitt - Scheduling Coordinator

Suzie came to work for Main Street Dental  in 2003.  She received her Dental Assistant certificate in 1969 from  North Pacific Dental.  After completion of her education she spent 16  years as a Dental Assistant before the Dentist she worked for retired.   Suzie was ready to put her dental knowledge to work in the front office  when she came to Main Street Dental.  Suzie has the uncanny recollection  for remembering each and every patient; she knows who is related to  whom, how many children or grandchildren they have, and where they last  vacationed.  Suzie truly enjoys talking to people and her happy nature  is infectious.
   Suzie’s favorite time is spent with her husband of  46 years, 2 grown sons and 3 grandchildren.  In her spare time she  enjoys sewing and camping with her family.  Suzie is an avid walker and  walks several miles everyday. 

Diane Ainge - Dental Hygienist, RDH

Diane has been employed by Main Street  Dental since 2000 when Dr. Compton purchased the practice from Dr.  Nixon.  Diane began working for Dr. Nixon in 1987.  She received her  Associate of Science degree in Dental Hygiene (RHD) from Lane Community  in 1975.  With more than 40 years of experience she still loves her job  and the patients who have become long time friends.

    In Diane's spare time she keeps very busy with many hobbies;  photography, gardening, camping and water skiing.  She is well traveled  reaching all but 8 US States, México, Caribbean, Canada, Bahamas and  Europe and hopes to travel to many more countries.  Her ever growing  family includes a Son and Daughter and 4 Grandchildren.

Vicki Dahl - Lead Dental Assistant

Vicki came to work for Main Street Dental  in 2008.  She was an integral part of moving the practice to the new  location in 2009.  She has been a Dental Assistant since 1983 when she  completed her certification at Portland Paramedical Center.  Vicki  received her Expanded Function Dental Assistant (EFDA) certificate in  2007.  With many years of experience and education our patients are in  good hands with Vicki’s knowledge and abilities.
   When not working  Vicki is most happy spending time with her husband and college age son.   She looks forward to the family’s yearly trip to South Carolina for  relaxation and fun in the sun.   

Emma Sammons - Dental Hygienist, RDH

 Emma is our newest team member who came  to work for Dr. Compton in November of 2017 from a large practice in the  Portland area.  She graduated from Oregon Institute of Technology in  Klamath Falls, Oregon in 2015 with a BS in Dental Hygiene.
   Emma  enjoys connecting with patients and learning about their families and  lives.  She takes pride in giving her patients the confidence to smile  and feel good about their dental health.   Traveling is at the top of  Emma’s hobbies; her favorite trip was to Europe in the summer of 2013;  she hopes to travel to more European countries someday.  Her other  hobbies include spending time with her family, road trips and going to  hockey games.
